Cristal – light lager, crisp, very similar to a bud light
Cusqueña – dark, lightly carbonated Carmel tasty, with vitamins
Pilsen Callao – (still waiting to try) heard it’s a little more malty and brewed w wheat

[…] Much like in Perú, the selection here is quite limited. There are really only 2 beers to choose from in any store or bar: Pilsner, the national beer, and Club Verde, which might even be from the same brewery. In general, they both have about the same taste: clean, little bit of hops, little bit dry but not nessarilily like a Japanese beer, lacking on flavors but refreshing for hot days. Though supposedly the Club Verde is a little bit higher in alcohol, I couldn’t taste it. In some of the fancy areas of Quito you can now find a Budweiser or Heineken, but its not going to be as ever present like these two. […]
