Firework Castle of Corpus Christi..

with 2 comments

Good way to celebrate the week.. funny how the expositions of fireworks were right directly over the heads of the spectators.. really only 10 – 20 feet in the air..

Happy Corpus Christi Everyone..

Last week was our town (Molinopampa’s) fiesta patronales and for those that don’t know, this is a pretty action packed and wild time. It lasted since last weekend and consisted of everything: fairs, animal judging; marching/dancing horse demonstrations, bands everynight, bike race, mini-marathon (of 12 km…I did okay, but still came in last in my division, dang these folks are fast), sidewalk decorating, many masses and religious processions, singing, traditional dances.. Definitely worth seeing and participating in every year. Bigger then Christmas, hope I’ll get a chance to write more in the future about it..

Museo Larco is located in Lima on the way to the airport, west of downtown and Miraflores, but is definitely worth the quick cab or combi ride.

I remember walking among some of the fragile Huari ruins, and am glad there are Peru museums dedicated to protecting the history.
