Traditional Amazonas Music During Another Carnival Yunsa..

with 2 comments

One nice thing about the festivals around here is we start to know what to expect: type of music, type of drinks, time to typically arrive, and types of activities. And when it comes time to have another party where you dance around the yunsa tree (SEE post around this time last year); we know what to expect but it’s always a good time.

During the carnival festival of last weekend, Jarime and Victor came out with their traditional drums and whistles to play festival music..

Then the band kicked in when it was time to circle the tree and get to cutting..

Remember when the tree comes down, the last to cut will be one of next years majordomos (or hosts) for the party.  Andrea and I are not going to go through that again.
