We Love You Grandma Galbavy, You Will Be Missed..

with 6 comments

Time goes by soo quickly while living and working here in the Peace Corps, you start to forget that the world changes back on the homefront.  You kinda think that things will be about the same when you return from your 2 year service; but in all reality, such is not the case.  New family members are born, friends and family move or get new jobs, and loved ones pass on.  Grandma Mary Galbavy lived a full and fruitful life in Slovakia, then New York City, then ultimately in Pensacola Florida, and died early Thursday morning.  The nurse mentioned that she started to sit up, then just laid back down and went back to sleep peacefully, and I’m happy knowing that she’s at peace now looking down on all of us.  She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.. love you.  Really did enjoy your final birthday party, as well as all the other times we got to get together throughout the years.

  1. Great note and pictures, Eddie. I believe that we take on some of the characteristics of those people we get to know; in that sense Grandma is always with us never to be forgotten. Love to you and Andrea .

  3. What a beautiful, loving tribute to an amazing woman who gave so much to those she loved. The pictures in this tribute are filled with special times when those in Ma Galbavy’s family showed such deep affection for their strong, amazing grandmother. Hers was a life well lived. Susie Cohan

  5. Stewart and I are so sorry to hear about your grandmother. It was such a pleasure meeting her and seeing her with her family. It was so obvious that she loved her family and kept her humor (having us sing happy birthday Again). It is nice to know such an angel will be watching over us….Thank You for sharing her..
