Molinopampa, Amazonas, Peru is quite a nice place tucked away in Western South America. Located on the Eastern Slope of the Andes Mountains at about 7800' in elevation with rain at times comparable to the jungle. Especially during the rainy season (Dec-Feb), this brings bright green pastures and steep carved river valleys. Lot of dairy around the pampa (pasture) area, and farm land for grasses. Molinopampa has about 1000 inhabitants, and probably about 1000-1500 more spread out within the 11 annexes of our district. There's a health center in town, along with a couple hotel/guesthouses/restaurants, a kindergarten, primary and secondary school, a police station, a couple small general stores, and a couple dairy stores selling queso fresco (soft cheese), yogurt, and delicious manjar blanco (similar to dulce de leche). All colleges, hospital, larger stores/markets, banks, etc. are in the regional capital of Chachapoyas, about 1 1/2 hours west of here.
